Gallstones

I want to stress that for many people, this is the single most important procedure you can do for better health.  Why?  Read The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush by Dr. Andreas Moritz.  In a nutshell, the SAD (Standard American Diet) blocks our system.  It may take years to manifest into “illness.”  The combination of sugar, dairy, ice cream, excess meat consumption and deep fat, fried foods forms coagulated balls of fat that block everything from your liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas and kidneys.  Everyone knows somebody who has had their gallbladder removed, it is the most common medical procedure today.

I strongly believe most everyone in America can benefit from this flush.  For my clients that need this protocol, stick with it.  It may take 6-12 months to fully heal, but you will start feeling better right after the first flush!  Do not stop doing the flushes.

Beneficial Foods

Drink lots of water - very important.  Add lemon to water, naturally breaks down stones and calcifications in body
Fresh vegetable juices (beet and cucumber especially)
Garlic
Avocados
Artichokes

Beets

Cucumbers
Ginger root
Coconuts
Grapes and freshly pressed grape juice (organic grapes only, I prefer WITH seeds) are especially helpful
Apples (organic) including apple juice (in moderation), and apple cider vinegar
Apricots, berries, figs, guavas, lemons, pears, prunes
Turmeric and milk thistle
Flax oil and other beneficial fats (moderation and spaced throughout day)
Radishes help to dissolve gallstones but may cause some discomfort. Do not use them until your symptoms are gone and then only in moderation.

Foods to Avoid for Gallstones:  THESE FOODS CAUSE STONES TO BUILD UP!

If you are prone to attacks, pay attention to this list!  WORST foods for gallbladder attacks in order:  Eggs, pork, greasy foods, onions, fowl, pasteurized milk, ice cream, coffee, chocolate, citrus fruits, corn, beans and nuts

Gallbladder Healing Protocol

Eat a low-fat diet until issue is resolved.  Avoid fatty foods, all trans fats, hydrogenated fats, nuts and seeds, and even healthy oils (flax ok in recipe below).  Foods high in animal fat and low in fiber prevent the liver's ability to absorb bile acids and cause gallstones to form. Those who have gallstones need to be especially diligent about avoiding high-fat foods and increasing their fiber intake. To prevent a painful attack or new gallstones from forming, stay away from: all dairy products including cheese; all animal fats, including butter; high-sugar sweets and carbohydrates, including all desserts, candy and ice cream; hydrogenated oils and fats found in most mayonnaises and margarines; deep-fried foods; caffeine, alcohol and carbonated beverages; no gluten containing grains, artificial sweeteners, additives and colorings, and eggs.

Drink 8 glasses of water every day (not tap)

Every day, make and eat the BEET RECIPE below

Fats to Avoid and Fats to Include:

Most important is to avoid fried foods, fatty foods and particular types of fats like trans fats, hydrogenated fats, partially-hydrogenated fats (read your labels).  Dairy and ice cream are big problems!

Include essential fatty acids such as flax oil.  Experiment slowly.  Most people, however, are able to eat small amounts.  Pay attention to your body when eating fats, even healthy fats.  If you feel blocked, clogged, congested, tired or experience pain in your stomach, chest, neck, back after eating fats then you need to eliminate them from your diet until this issue is resolved!  If you have used the beet recipe, you have found that those three ingredients in combination do not cause problems but help to move the stagnation in the gallbladder. I generally advise adding a teaspoon of flax oil with apple cider vinegar or lemon juice to salads as a dressing.  Low fat diets are dangerous for many reasons, but can specifically cause major gallbladder issues.

BEET RECIPE
Treatment for Gallbladder Pain

1 large organic beet or beetroot (raw) washed (not peeled unless not organic) and finely grated

juice of 1/2 lemon

2 Tbsps flax oil

(Flax oil is by far the superior choice here as it is an omega-3 essential fatty acid, but if you only have extra-virgin cold-pressed olive oil in the house, you can substitute it temporarily.)

Take one teaspoon of mixture every hour throughout the day.
On day two and three make a fresh batch using ¼ of a large beet.
Take one teaspoon of mixture 3 to 4 times a day or more.

Make this mixture to add to your salads frequently or eat alone as above 2 or 3 times a week. This will keep the bile thin and moving. Note: If you cannot get organic beets, be sure to peel them. Otherwise, use the peel as well.

Beets in any form are an excellent food for both the liver and the gallbladder.

Eat your regular meals throughout this period, striving to eat lots of fresh vegetables, good fats and to avoid refined sugars and processed foods.

Green Soup Recipe for Relief of Gallbladder Pain

One bunch parsley
3 medium zucchini
½ lb. Green beans
5 stalks celery

Steam together for 8-10 minutes.
Or partially steam and boil in ½ cup water.
If you have a steamer, you retain more nutrients and flavor with that method.
Puré in a blender.

NOTE: THIS SOUP IS NOT FOR A GALLBLADDER ATTACK! Use the Flax Seed Tea. Liquids are best during an attack. You could try the Beet Recipe. Many find it helps, but others do better with just liquids. It is wonderful for relief from all sorts of gastric disturbances such as stomach pain, gas, and indigestion. I do not add any fat or salt to this recipe. It can be used anytime but is particularly useful as a three day fast with nothing else but water. It is both nourishing and easy to digest. You can alter the amounts to taste. More beans add more sweetness.

Flax Seed Tea Recipe

Useful during a gallbladder attack.
Boil 1 Tbsp of organic flax seeds in 2 1/2 cups of water for 5 minutes. Steep 10 minutes. Strain and sip slowly.

The Liver and Gallbladder Flush

This is one of the most amazing things you can do for your health. The flush requires six day of preparation, followed by 16-20 hours of cleansing. Here is the shopping list:

Apple Juice – six 32oz containers, which is 1.5 gallons

Or Malic Acid Powder (One teaspoon per quart of water, 6 tsps total)

Epsom Salts – 4 Tablespoons

Extra Virgin Olive Oil (best is Tasteful Olive in Overland Park, KS. Tell Jean Vaughn sent you!) – 4oz.  You want the garlic infused olive oil for best results.

Fresh Grapefruit (pink best) or lemon/orange combination – 6oz.

2 pint jars, one with lid

For six days, do the following:

- Avoid processed foods, all meat products, dairy products, packaged foods and sugar. Basically eat a vegetarian diet for these six days, avoiding sugar and processed foods. Drink only lemon water, herbal teas and the apple juice as recommended below.

-Every day drink one quart (32oz) of fresh organic apple juice, local or fresh juiced is best, non-pasteurized is best, but not always possible. The malic acid in apples softens the stones. You can also take malic acid in powder form if you have problems with apple juice. I can provide that for you. If you start going to the bathroom too much right away, just from the apple juice, you can dilute with water. Drink it slowly throughout the entire day. Also drink regular water intake.

** Note I often recommend malic acid over apple juice as straight apple juice is a lot of sugar for the body which also feeds unwanted organisms or cancers. One teaspoon of malic acid per quart of water.

-Avoid cold or chilled foods and liquids. Eat and drink warm, or room temperature foods. Do not overeat, eat small meals. Avoid foods from animal sources, dairy products, fried foods and processed foods during this 6 days. Otherwise, eat normal meals.

-Cleanse on a weekend or when you will have the most time, specifically for the day of the actual flush, day 6. The new moon is best for the flush, or anytime between the new and full moons. Do not flush on the day of a full moon as the body holds more fluids in the brain and tissues on this day.

-Cleanse your colon before or ideally, the day of your flush, day 6. A colonic is best. Natural High Wellness Center does colonics, conveniently located in the same building as Spirit of Health at 9341 W. 75th Street on Overland Park, KS. 913-901-8699, speak with Angel. This will minimize discomfort or nausea and prevent back flushing of the oil mixture or wastes being cleansed out. It also helps to more quickly eliminate the gallstones.

-On day 6, drink all 32oz of apple juice in the morning or malic acid powder water. If hungry, eat a very light breakfast, oatmeal or fruits. Avoid all other foods. For lunch you can have steamed vegetables with rice, but make it a small meal. Do not eat any protein foods, fats, butter or oil, add nothing to your steamed vegetables or rice. Do not eat or drink anything besides water after 1:30pm! Otherwise this may affect your passing of the stones.

The Actual Flush, Day 6

6pm – Add 4 tablespoons of Epsom salts to 24 ounces of water. This makes four 6oz servings. Drink the first glass, 6oz. now. It is bitter, tastes like a rubber hose to me. You can pinch your nostrils or use a straw if desired. This dilates the bile ducts, helping the stones to pass. Set out citrus fruit so that it is room temperature for use.

8pm – Drink second 6oz. glass of Epsom salts

9:30pm – if you have not yet had any bowel movements, take a water enema which will trigger bowel movements

9:45pm – Wash grapefruits (or lemons/oranges) and squeeze them by hand to remove pulp. You will need 6oz of juice. Pour the juice, along with the 4oz of extra virgin olive oil in a pint jar, close lid and shake vigorously, 20 times or so until watery. If you still feel you need to go the restroom, go ahead.

10pm – Stand next to bed, drink your concoction. You may use a straw or close nostrils. Drink it in one gulp if possible. Try to drink within 5 minutes at most.

LIE DOWN IMMEDIATELY!!!

This is critical to release stones. Turn off lights, lie flat on back, with head elevated higher than abdomen using pillows. If not comfortable, lie on your right side in the fetal position with knees pulled up. Lie still, do not speak, and put your attention on the liver and the moving of the stones. Some people put a castor oil pack over liver area.

You may feel stones traveling along the bile ducts. There should be no pain or spasms at all. If you feel the urge to have a bowel movement during the night, go ahead. Otherwise, sleep. You can see the stones released during your bowel movement.

The Next Morning

6am - Drink another 6oz glass of Epsom salts. Rest, read, pray, meditate, go back to sleep. You can even do light exercise, stretching, or yoga.

8am – Drink last 6oz glass of Epsom salts

10am – You may drink fresh squeezed juice, then 30 minutes later a piece of fruit, and an hour later a light meal. By the same evening or the next morning you should be back to normal, and probably feeling really good.

Expect a number of bowel movements, with gallstones and food residues. Only bile from the liver forms the green colored stones you will see. There may be tan or white stones, which are calcified and will sink to the bottom of the stool. You may see white or tan colored foam which may be cholesterol crystals and/or mucus your body has release, all good things!

**Understand that it might take 5,6,10, even 12 flushes to eliminate all stones. Once you start this process, you want to continue with flushes until you have no stones at all for two flushes. Leaving the liver half clean may cause a return of symptoms as more stone are moved forward. If your recovery seems short-lived, don’t be discouraged. It takes multiple flushes to undo years and years of buildup and damage. Each cleanse will become more and more effective as the function of the liver and gallbladder increases. You can do a flush every 3 weeks or once per month. After you are stone free for two consecutive flushes, do one every 6-8 months for maintenance. If gallstones are trapped in the colon, a colonic will clear them out. They can cause irritation, headache, discomfort, etc. if not addressed. A coffee enema or colonic will be of great benefit in this case.

NOTE NOTE NOTE!!!  Do NOT stop doing these flushes.  This is imperative information!  I have many clients and even close friends that do this only to relieve temporary pain and discomfort.  This is a BAD IDEA.  There are thousands of these stones and you want them ALL out.  You must continue to do these flushes up to 12 times potentially!

Do not believe there is only a problem if you have pain or discomfort.  Trust me in this.  I have worked with many people on these issues.  For your good long-term health this needs to be a regular part of your life, NOT a quick fix!  After you have flushed and removed ALL stones (usually one year) Then you can do it twice per year for maintenance!
