Activating Immune Support

Echinacea Root has become the most recognized and one of the most researched herbs in the entire world for activating immune system function, supporting the respiratory system, and strengthening the body to have better resistance to immune challenges.

A member of the daisy family, Echinacea angustifolia, commonly known as narrow-leafed coneflower, is similar to the common flowering border plant we know as Purple Coneflower that is grown in many of our gardens throughout America. The name Echinacea comes from the Greek word for ‘hedgehog’ after the spiny center of the flower, and angustifolia for its narrow-leafed flowers.

Echinacea was originally used by the North American Plains Indians and other Native American tribes, who used it medicinally more than any other plant. It was introduced into Western medicine by the Eclectic Physicians in the 1880s. By the mid-1890s it was already one of the most popular herbs used for health in the United States. Today, it is used by millions of people all over the world as their primary immune-boosting support.

Echinacea Root stimulates the production of immune system cells and activates them, increasing the general activity of your immune system. Echinacea helps strengthen your body’s overall resistance while maintaining healthy nutritional absorption at the cellular level. Alkylamides in Echinacea Root are the polysaccarides that cause the numbing sensation on the tongue that is the hallmark of a good Echinacea product. These alkylamides play an important role in Echinacea’s valuable action as an immune system stimulant to stimulate the overall activity of the immune cells and help build white blood cell levels.

While supporting immune activity, Echinacea helps maintain upper respiratory health. It supports the tissues of the sinuses and throat the rest of the respiratory system that are exposed to airborne stressors and helps support challenged immune systems. Echinacea is best used at the beginning of an immune challenge, for no more than two weeks at a time, and not used on a long-term basis.

It’s not just the herb that makes Echinacea Root so effective at stimulating your immune system and supporting your respiratory system during immune challenges. Echinacea Root Single Herb by Cedar Bear® is made with Cedar Bear’s special proprietary process called the TincTract®.
