It is valuable to be able to buy pure turmeric root powder because it, when combined with sunflower lecithin and pure whey protein powder, forms a easily absorbed and pleasant-tasting ingredient to add to my morning cereal. Many studies have shown that turmeric is a potent healing agent against a variety of age-related degenerative diseases afflicting many people. It has clearly helped my cognition issues; my geriatrician has noted these improvements since i began taking this product several years ago.
I have been using Spirit of Health turmeric root powder for several years. My last order was for 4 - 16 oz parcels. The turmeric powder is bright orange, fresh scented and of excellent quality. I use ~1 tablespoon daily added to my morning cereal, in combination with ~4 tablespoons of pure unflavored whey protein which binds to the turmeric and ameliorates the pungent flavor of the curcumin. Because the whey protein is readily digested, it does not interfere with the absorption of the curcumin from the digestive tract. Since adding this turmeric regimen to my diet several years ago, I have noted a distinct improvement in my mental accuity and a definite reduction of arthritic attacks on my varioius joints. I am over 84 years old and rely on this regimen to enable me to remain vital and physically active.
I have been using this product for well over a year as an additive to my breakfast cereal -- in combination with Isopure whey protein isolate (unflavored, no additives). A substance in the whey protein binds tightly with the curcumin and almost completely eliminates its strong flavor. [When I was in India many years ago, milk curd (slurry) was offered as a desert to quench the burning of the very hot spices they use in their cooking; I found that it was like the Balm of Gilead to stop the burning in my mouth and probably protected my stomach as well.] I use a slightly rounded teaspoon of the turmeric root powder in combination with about three tablespoons of the whey protein isolate each morning. The whey doesn't interfere with the known protective effects of curcumin from the development of Alzheimer's disease. I have found that my mind is definitely clearer and better focused since I started this regimen.
