Orange Peel Cut
Orange peel is dried and cut rind of the orange, also commonly known as bitter orange. In contrast to the sweet and juicy fruit and freshly grated zest, dried orange peel provides a tart, bitter, and concentrated orange flavor without the sweetness.
Sweet Oranges are powerfully rich with vitamins and nutrients that refresh the senses with a burst of inviting aroma and a delicious flavor. Oranges are actually modified berries that have evolved to include a protective outer rind called the “zest” that is filled with essential oils, and vitamin C and is the source of its rich aroma. The zest is used in food preparation and is revered in popular drinks and tonics.
Orange peel contains aromatic compounds that are antiseptic, reduce muscle spasms and decrease the thickness while increasing the production of mucosal fluids. It also contains bitter compounds that are anti-inflammatory, reduces muscle spasms, increases the production of digestive fluid, and increases blood circulation.

Category: Medicinal
These herbs are so named because they are medicine and should be respected as such. God gave herbs to be used as medicine, so it is important to use wisdom in taking them. Each medicinal herb usually targets a specific gland, organ, or body system. They are stronger, which is why it is recommended to use lower dosages for short periods of time.
Suggested Use
With medicinal herbs, it is important to start slow and increase gradually. Begin with 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon in food, drinks, smoothies, or tea, and then evaluate to see how the body is doing. Increase in small increments of 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon if the body is responding well until the desired response is achieved. It is recommended that these types of herbs be used at low dosages for a short period of time. For management of stress, hormone balance, or nutrition, focus on the adaptogenic and nutritive herbs.
